Belles Hot Chicken acquired the old Spud Bar restaurant at the Windsor end of chapel St in 2016. Riddled with clashing colours and quirky spaces, Ola focused on designing a space suitable for Belles with minimal intervention. The existing counter and all fixed tables and chairs were restored, with all new bar and kitchen equipment being housed in mild steel and recycled timber. The timber reclaimed from demolition was also used throughout the restaurant as shelves and various joinery items.
The combination of dark textured metals, recycled timber and warm whites, provides an inviting space to enjoy a meal and drink while maintaining the sites original quirks and charm.
